The location offers stunning views of Vatnajokull glaciers right outside. Room layout was efficient, although compact, and the staff provided excellent service, even assisting with luggage despite the absence of a lift. Breakfast was satisfactory, but be aware that the dining area closes promptly at 10 am.

Perfect Base for Icelandic Adventures
This cozy hotel provided all I needed after a long day of hiking. A special highlight was the in-house lobster pasta – simply delicious! Request a sea-view room for breathtaking sunrise views. Tip, Rent a car for easy access to stunning nearby landscapes.

The hotel had a lovely garden where my boys enjoyed running around. The view from our room was stunning, and we even caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights! The staff was friendly and gave us great local tips for sightseeing.
For dads, it would be great if there were more family-friendly activities available.

Great view of Vatnajokull glaciers, but noisy walls made sleeping tough.

good stay but could improve service
The breakfast spread was diverse and exceeded our expectations, especially the fresh pastries! The comfort of the room provided a restful night, thanks to the excellent blackout curtains.
The service at the restaurant felt a bit slow initially.

Good Choice for Couples
Had a great time here, especially at breakfast where the spread was wide and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. The staff were super friendly,, making you feel right at home, even carrying our bags up the stairs with a smile.
It wasn't exactly a bargain,, but still okay for the experience.

I found this hotel to be a cozy spot during my trip. The room was one of the larger ones I had over my two-week journey in Iceland. I loved the breakfast dining area. it had a nice ambiance and the food was excellent. The location in town offered many dining options within walking distance. However, I was surprised to find there was no elevator, and I had to carry my bags up to the second floor. The staff did offer luggage assistance, but I opted to manage on my own. Although I appreciated the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom was not as presented in the images. The shower curtain looked old and dirty, and there was a slight musty smell. I also noticed the floor could use a more thorough cleaning. Parking was limited on-site, which made it a bit tricky during busy times. Overall, while the breakfast was a strong point, the facilities could definitely use some attention to enhance the experience.

The Standard Double or Twin Room was pretty basic, not much to write home about. The beds were okay, enough for a night, but the bathroom was super tiny. Biggest issue was the noise—walls were paper-thin! You could hear everything from the neighbors just chatting. It really messed with our sleep. On the plus side, though, the views from some rooms are nice.

My stay at Hoefn was enjoyable, highlighted by a breathtaking sea view from my room and a delicious breakfast offering a range of choices like freshly baked pastries and organic juices. The staff was friendly and even notified guests when the Northern Lights appeared, turning a regular night into an unforgettable experience.
I encountered a lingering bathroom odor.
